As the Counter-Strike 2 release date approaches, Valve continues to announce the big changes coming with CS 2 on Twitter. Finally, an important change has been made in the weapon purchase screen.

Resemblance to the Valorant weapon grill draws attention

CS2’s purchase screen, allowing players to exchange items they purchased before the purchase phase ends. Because the weapon menu of CS 2 is similar to the weapon grid of Valorant. Additionally, with CS2, Valve will allow players to choose 4 pistols, 5 “intermediate” weapons (SMGs/shotguns) and 5 rifles to create a personal purchase menu.

More limited than the CS:GO purchase screen

A total of 15 weapons (including starter pistols) will be available to you during the match. So you will have to leave behind 2-3 weapons in each category. Purchases will technically be more limited than CS:GO’s current purchase screen. But it will also allow you to use weapon combinations that were previously impossible. For example, instead of having to choose between a silenced M4A1-S or an M4A4, you can now buy both in the same match.

Counter Strike 2 is currently in Beta and already offers some users the opportunity to play. Although the exact release date of the game is not specified, the leaks point to July.
