Spotify may host many more audiobooks very soon. The company took an important step towards this and acquired the audiobook platform Findaway.
Findaway is a US company with an extensive catalog of over 325,000 audiobooks. Its partners include Apple, Amazon, and other retail brands, while it also develops tools for audiobook publishers. While it’s unclear how much Spotify paid to buy Findaway and how Findaway will integrate its catalog into its own system, the company said in a statement that they will quickly scale its audiobook catalogue.
This move isn’t Spotify’s first move to create an audiobook catalog. The company had previously included 9 classic works in its catalog and added Harry Potter to its library.
