The satellites of Starlink, the project of SpaceX, which was founded by billionaire Elon Musk to provide internet service to the whole world through orbiting satellites, were included in the Starship rocket launched for testing in April. Before the test, SpaceX did not inform about this.

The company officially confirmed that during this test launch, Starlink was indeed aboard the Starship rocket and even flew at twice the speed of sound during the test launch and at almost three times the altitude at which commercial aircraft fly, which is a record.

Starlink traveled 123,600+ feet at an altitude of Mach 1.7

During Starship’s first flight test, Starlink set an altitude and speed record for in-flight use by connecting while traveling at an altitude of 123,600+ feet (36,679 meters) and Mach 1.7 (2,082 km/h). Breaking this record also opens the door to connection for return on SpaceX’s Crew Dragon.

With the next Starship test flight scheduled for the next few months, Starlink satellites have proven to perform well in a grueling environment. Starlink has to use a dish to communicate with orbiting satellites, and SpaceX has expanded its dish portfolio since its application round in 2021.

Offering only a consumer-oriented terminal at the time, the firm has since expanded these to include high-performance variants that are not suitable for use near people and require professional installation.
