Valve, the owner of the Steam platform, shared the latest statistics about the hardware and software preferred by users. According to the May 2023 report, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 remains the most popular graphics card, used by 5.85% of gamers.
The most notable changes took place in the operating systems category. The popularity of Windows 11, used by 34% of Steam players, continues to increase. The share of Windows 10, the most popular version, is gradually decreasing. It is currently at 60.51% level.
Steam user statistics
96.14% of Steam users use Windows and 2.39% use macOS. The remaining 1.47% is the share of Linux. The vast majority of gamers still prefer hexa-core processors (33.7%), 16GB of RAM (52%) and 1920 x 1080 screen resolution (64%).
