The gameplay video from Spider-Man 2, the first trailer of which was shown about 2 years ago and we were all waiting for, was finally shared with the public at the PlayStation event last week. Just like in the first game, as players, we have risen a lot in this game.
Especially the scenes that we saw in the gameplay video, where the transition between Miles and Peter were very interesting. Developer Insomniac explained in detail how this character switching mechanic was introduced into the game.
We will be able to switch between Peter and Miles with a single button.
Spider-Man 2’s creative director, Bryan Intihar, explained how the mechanics work in an interview with Eurogamer. He says the game features a content set built around Peter, a separate set of content built around Miles, and an intersection set with content built around the two together.
Using the power of PlayStation 5, the developers have developed a system that allows you to switch between these two characters in the open world with one click. The most important point that Bryan mentions is that this transition will take a very short time. Additionally, this character switching mechanic will also be linked to Spider-Man 2’s skill tree. One of the skill trees will be available for Peter, one for Miles, and one covering both.
(As in the first game, when Peter’s lover and fierce journalist Mary Jane Watson was asked if the transition could be made, the developers did not answer the question.)

Along with this gameplay video for Spider-Man 2 released 10 days ago, Insomniac also announced the game’s release date. Developed as a PlayStation 5 exclusive game, Spider-Man 2 will meet with players in the autumn of 2023.
