It was reported last week that laptops with ARM processors are experiencing problems with webcams. Microsoft responded quite quickly to user reports and released an update, but with annoying details.

Update lowered image quality

Users of Microsoft SQ1 and Microsoft SQ2 running Windows 11 22H2, 21H2, and Windows 10 22H2 operating systems, as well as laptops with Qualcomm 8cx Gen 1 and Gen 2 mobile processors, were reporting that attempting to open any application using the built-in webcam resulted in the error “0xA00F4271 (0x80004005)” .

Regarding the released update, Microsoft reported that it is a temporary fix with a side effect. Its annoying side effects were described as disabling some webcam features and reducing image quality. Microsoft has not yet announced when the new update, which will fix all the bugs, will be released.
