What does the Immortalis G720 offer?
Reportedly, the Immortalis G720 will offer hardware-level ray tracing, variable rate shading and support for 2x MSAA modules with 16 configurable cores. However, Arm states that the new GPU will compete with PC in real-time dynamic lighting, projector lighting, depth of field and screen area ambient screening.
The most striking feature of Immortalis G720 is its revolutionary Deferred Vertex Shader (DVS) technology. This technology offers significant power savings and performance gains by addressing the memory access and bandwidth consumption issue. As a matter of fact, Arm says that the power consumption needed for high-performance games is largely due to memory access. DVS technology, on the other hand, will provide up to 40 percent efficiency in bandwidth.
Also in addition to the new announcement, Arm has reported that the Unreal Engine 5 desktop viewer is coming to Android later this year. This development may open the doors of a new era in mobile platforms. It has not yet been announced on which phones the Immortalis G720 will be used.
