Homeworld 3 will be released in February 2024
Fans of the Homeworld series won’t be able to see the new game come out this year. While the long-awaited sequel to Homeworld 2, the sci-fi real-time strategy game released in 2003, was expected to be released in 2022, its release date was delayed to the first half of this year. Now, its developers, Blackbird Interactive and Gearbox Publishing, have announced that they have pushed the release date of Homeworld 3 to February 2024.
In a statement made by Blackbird, it was stated that they needed more time to fully realize their vision, refine and polish the game. Fans’ reaction to the announcement on Twitter was generally positive.
Homeworld 3 will be a 3D real-time strategy game set in space. Homeworld 3 will also feature an extensive campaign mode that gives solo play an important role. As with other games in the series, combat gameplay will be built around an effective 3D ballistic system. In the previous statements, it was stated that the game would combine the RTS gameplay with the roguelike structure.
