US-based technology giant Microsoft held its “Build 2023” event yesterday evening. The theme of the event this year was artificial intelligence, as you can imagine. Statements made by the company reveal that almost every service of Microsoft will now be supported by artificial intelligence.

Now, we will take a closer look at the announcements made at Microsoft Build 2023 events. If you’re ready, let’s start.

All AI-focused innovations announced at Microsoft Build 2023

A website can be designed with artificial intelligence

A new artificial intelligence-supported tool has been added to Microsoft’s service called “Power Pages”, which is used to create a website. This tool can automatically create layout, designs, themes, fonts, contact forms and even artificial intelligence supported chatbot on a website in line with the given commands. Moreover, artificial intelligence will make editing not only in the view, but also in the back. For example, if a contact form has been created, the database to be used for this will also be created in the background.

One of the most important features of the artificial intelligence tool added to Power Pages is that it allows to change it later. Let’s say you don’t know anything about coding. Artificial intelligence will automatically create the website for you. However, if you have a certain level of coding knowledge, you will be able to customize the work done by Artificial intelligence as you wish. In this way, both those who know coding and those who do not will have the opportunity to have the most suitable website for themselves.

With Microsoft Azure, everyone will be able to create their own “assistant”

Microsoft’s cloud service Azure has started to offer a very important service for developers. According to the statement, Azure users will now be able to create their own assistants. This assistant can serve different purposes such as a chatbot, creator or visual creator. After the developer chooses the artificial intelligence model such as GPT-4 integrated into Azure, he will explain in detail what the assistant he will create will be used for.

Moreover, this assistant will be able to access both the Azure database and third-party data and services. Thus, the artificial intelligence-supported assistant will be used in a very wide scope. Thanks to this new service, Microsoft Azure users will be able to develop assistants that can make a difference in the world of artificial intelligence. Of course, it should be noted that this is based on the developer’s imagination.

Inappropriate text and images will be moderated by artificial intelligence

One of the most important announcements made by Microsoft at the Build 2023 event was undoubtedly the artificial intelligence tool called “Azure AI Content Safety”. Azure AI Content Safety can analyze text and images shared on the internet and see if they are inappropriate. To put it more simply; Let’s assume that there is a post about child pornography on a forum site. Azure AI Content Safety will automatically detect this share and notify the moderators.

Azure AI Content Safety can be used by any website that wishes. Moreover, it will be very affordable. Microsoft announced that it will charge $ 1.5 for 1,000 image analysis and $ 0.75 for 1,000 text messages. The artificial intelligence tool, which can be used in English, Spanish, German, French, Japanese, Portuguese, Italian and Chinese content, can also be customized by the customer purchasing the service.

Microsoft will add watermarks to photos and videos created by artificial intelligence

Images and videos created with artificial intelligence-supported tools made it difficult for us to understand what is real and what is fake. Aware of this, Microsoft has made a new study that will benefit the end user. In line with this work, Microsoft promised to add watermarks to images and videos created with artificial intelligence. In other words, the end user will be able to understand that a video he watches or a picture he thinks has been drawn is actually created by artificial intelligence.

However, there is a problem here. Adobe, Arm, Intel, BBC, Microsoft and the visual media platform Truepic have implemented a project called “C2PA” some time ago. This project aims to set new standards for content in digital media. In doing so, it makes use of metadata. Microsoft will add watermarks for content that meets the C2PA standards. What about those who do not adopt these standards? That content will continue to roam the internet without watermarks.

Artificial intelligence support is coming to Windows 11 and software

Copilot, Microsoft’s artificial intelligence-supported assistant, will start to support other Microsoft software with Windows 11. In this context; Copilot can be used with a new feature to be added to Windows 11. Also, Copilot, which has already been made available in Microsoft 365, now provides support for various add-ons. Third-party add-ons will expand Copilot’s capabilities. Let me also point out; Microsoft Edge will also gain Copilot support very soon.

The Terminal service in Microsoft’s operating systems has also gained artificial intelligence support. In this way, users will be able to use Terminal’s artificial intelligence support to get code suggestions, debug or find solutions to problems they encounter. And of course the “Microsoft Store”, Microsoft’s app store. The company has created a new option for applications that focus on artificial intelligence. This option, added to the menu on the left, will allow the end user to quickly access artificial intelligence-supported applications.
