Acura, which operates within the body of Japanese car manufacturer Honda and produces vehicles for the USA, Canada and Hong Kong regions, introduced the new model of Integra, which we have not seen for years. The new Acura Integra, model 2023, brought back the model that was discontinued in 2006. The vehicle was built on Honda’s Civic model. The vehicle carries the engine and manual transmission found in the Civic Si.
The Honda Acura, which has only been shown as a prototype yet, was shown with a prominent yellow color called ‘Indy Yello’. Combining soft and sharp lines in its design, the vehicle carries Brembo brakes and 19-inch five-spoke wheels. Acura explained that it does not prefer to lean towards retro models like Toyota did with the Supra or Nissan’s Z model. Instead, “What would it look like today if the Integra model hadn’t stopped production?” They wanted to answer the question.
Acura Integra, completely purified from its old appearance:
Detailed technical information about the vehicle was not shared. However, it was stated that the engine will be the same as the 1.5-liter engine in the Honda Civic Si. This shows that the new Acura Integra will have a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine and close to 200 horsepower. However, Acura added that this engine will not be limited to only 200 horsepower, but will produce higher power.
While only the prototype model was shown at the event, Acura’s product planner announced that we may see a performance model in the coming days. However, no definite explanation has been given. Acura has announced that the new Integra model, which brings back the legend, will go into production at its factory in the USA in 2022.
Compared to the old Integra, the new Integra does not seem to give the old ‘culture’ air that much, what do you think?
