Google Pixel Fold was officially announced recently. But it looks like Google doesn’t intend to settle for just one foldable model. The company seems to be open-minded about developing devices that can be folded into other forms.
This claim is based on a speech by Google’s Pixel product manager, George Hwang, at the Google I/O 2023 event. In response to a question about foldable devices, Hwang said his team is exploring different types of devices and technologies.
This statement is considered to be highly likely to work on it as a clamshell model like the Galaxy Z Flip 4 or Motorola Razr.
Google team focused on Pixel Fold
Hwang says his team has put a lot of effort into making the Pixel Fold the best it can be, from its design to apps and cameras. Judging by the view, the classic foldable form seems to keep Google busy for a long time. Of course, it might also be a logical step to work on perfecting the Google Fold before moving on to Google Flip.
Based on an extensive testing process, Google claims the Pixel Fold has the most durable hinge ever among foldable devices.
As for why Google lags so far behind Samsung when it comes to foldable devices, Hwang states that the problem is with the right hardware, software and apps getting together and working together.
