You may have immediately thought of the reason. Although the reason why this feature is not brought to iPhone and iPad models is security, why isn’t this key feature, which was actually developed for security, not preferred by Apple for “security” reasons?

Although the pattern password lock model is easy to use, it is known as the most dangerous password model in terms of security. In addition to being a more comfortable password model, this situation lies behind the fact that it is not used on iPhone and iPad models.

According to the researches, the pattern cipher model is the easiest cipher method to imitate.

This password method used by Android users is not a very reliable model. In computer terminology, there is a personal data capture method called shoulder surfing. In simple terms, this means that a person spies, steals or remembers your personal data on the device by looking at the device you have used from close to your shoulder.

This is something that can happen quite often on the road, in a cafe or on public transport.

The result of an experiment on the victim hunting method called shoulder surfing also explains that the pattern password method is not reliable.

To investigate how reliable this method is, several people were placed at shoulder level of the person using a device with the pattern lock method. 64% of those who saw the pattern pattern on the device for the first time were able to remember the password. 80% of those who saw the same model for the second time could remember the password. This is not an insignificant rate.

The same test was done with a 6-digit password, and only 11% of those who saw this password model for the first time could remember the password. 27% of those who saw the 6-digit password model for the second time were able to remember the password.

Visual memory also comes into play in the pattern cipher method.

The password method we are talking about is quite contrary to Apple’s logic. Therefore, we can safely say that the pattern password method will never come to iPhone and iPad models. Apple’s mentality is to combine the best technology with users with the simplest method. Now let’s think together, is the pattern password method simple? Yes. Is it the best? No. Is the 6 digit password method simple? It’s pretty simple. Is it the best? Yes, the best.

How can the pattern cipher method be the best technology when the numbers are like this in the results of the research?
