Michael Lewis, the author of this book and dealing with the crisis of that period, is now chasing a new book. Lewis is writing a book about SBF, the chief architect of the FTX crisis. Attending the Bitcoin 2023 event, Lewis announced that his book about SBF is about to end.
Big Short Author Writes A Book About SBF
Michael Lewis, author of Big Short on the 2008 Mortgage crisis, is writing a book about Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF), who is considered responsible for the FTX crisis. Speaking at the Bitcoin 2023 conference, Lewis conveyed that the book, whose movie rights were sold to Apple, will be finished soon.
Before starting to write the book, Lewis conducted several interviews about the events and with the actors of the event. The famous author started writing the book before the investigations even started. Lewis explained that he turned to this issue with a suggestion given by his friend, who runs a firm on Wall Street, in 2021.
Lewis said that he had easy access to data about FTX at first, but he could not reach enough information about SBF. Receiving advice from his friends that he should spend time with SBF, Lewis stated that he started meetings and talks.
The inventor of Big Short announced that SBF has agreed to be the subject of the book. However, Lewis stated that he still did not know how to write the book because he did not have enough information. Speaking about the bankruptcy of FTX and the accompanying legal processes, Lewis said that he was grateful that such an event took place, as he did not know how to finish the book.
Finally, Lewis stated that with the outbreak of FTX events, his book turned from fiction to a great story.
