Intel has recently released its new 12th generation Alder Lake-S desktop processors. The top model Core i9-12900K processor and i9-12900KF models attract the attention of overclocking enthusiasts, and these capabilities of the new processors are undoubtedly an opportunity for motherboard manufacturers to showcase their skills in this field.
While motherboard manufacturer ASRock is one of these manufacturers, it has been reported that the company’s newly introduced Z690 motherboard, AQUA OC, broke the world record. Accordingly, with the Core i9-12900K used in the Z690 AQUA OC motherboard, important values were achieved in the following tests:
- Geekbech4 Single Core (16xCPU) New Record Reached: 11808 Points.
- CINEBENCH – 2003 (8xCPU) New Record Achieved: 11296 CB.
- Geekbech3 Single Core (8xCPU) New Record Reached: 11134 Points
- Geekbech4 Single Core (8xCPU) New Record Reached: 12651 Points
- PiFast (8xCPU) Reached New Record 7 Seconds 980ms.
ASRock is not the only one making a similar claim. A related statement came from Gigabyte in the past days. Accordingly, Gigabyte, which announced that it managed to achieve 8 GHz CPU clock speed, used i9-12900K CPU and DDR5 memory in this test. As a result of the discussions that followed, it was said that the CPU is not really likely to reach 8 GHz, while Gigabyte also responded to the issue and claimed that the 8 GHz record was real.
