Kaspersky Warns Users About Fake Wallet App

Kaspersky has warned its users about the app impersonating a wallet app. The company has passed a warning to its users so that their crypto money is not stolen.

Kaspersky cyber incident expert Stanislav Golovanov explained that fake wallets take control of users’ private keys, allowing scammers to steal Bitcoin.

The fake wallets looked exactly like real Trezor Model T wallets and used a modified microcontroller that gave scammers access to users’ crypto assets. To prevent such attacks, Kaspersky advised users to purchase hardware wallets only from official vendors.

A similar security issue was addressed by Trezor in 2022. Trezor took action by advising users to follow the steps to verify their Trezor wallet. However, the company is trying to prevent the new incident.
