This interface uses large text labels with high contrast buttons. For users who prefer to communicate visually, customizations such as an emoji keyboard and video message recording options are introduced in the Messages application. The Home Screen can be displayed with a grid-based layout with large icons or a row-based layout with small icons.

More accessibility features coming with iOS 17
- Deaf or hard of hearing users will be able to pair and customize hearing aids made for iPhone directly with the Mac.
- Phonetic suggestions for editing text have been added to Voice Control, and users can learn how to use voice commands as an alternative to tapping and typing on iPhone, iPad and Mac with the Voice Control Guide.
- Using Switch Control, users with physical disabilities will be able to turn any key into a virtual game controller to play their favorite games on iPhone and iPad.
- For low vision users, it’s now easier to adjust text size in Mac apps like Finder, Messages, Mail, Calendar, Notes.
- Users sensitive to fast animations will be able to automatically pause images with animated elements such as GIFs in the Safari browser and Messages.
- Siri voices are made more natural and expressive for VoiceOver users, and Siri’s speaking rate can be customized.
