According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is working on an important change that will eliminate the need for the “Hey Siri” command phrase that iPhone users are used to. After this change, Siri will resemble Amazon Alexa, which only needs a single command. Here are the details

The era of “Hey Siri” is ending on iPhones!

Reportedly, Apple will remove the word “Hey” from the “Hey Siri” command to make Siri simpler. In other words, to communicate with Siri, just calling “Siri” will be enough. Considering that Siri offers support for various accents and languages, we can say that only switching to the “Siri” command will be a difficult process for Apple. Because “Hey Siri” allows a more accurate definition with two different words.

In addition to the command change to Siri, Apple is said to be working on deeper integration with third-party apps and services. This integration will provide users with a more consistent assistant experience by leveraging contextual information.

Gurman did not share any date for the change to be made in Siri. However, it is expected to be unveiled alongside OS 17 at the WWDC 2023 event and be available in 2023 or 2024. Indeed, the primary focus of the event will be Apple’s upcoming Reality Pro mixed reality headset.

Going back to iOS 17, Apple’s next operating system update will include key innovations such as granular control over flashlight brightness, customizable Lock screen, revamped Apple Music, and customization options in the App Library. It is also stated that the new version will have third-party application support and a revamped Control Center.
