Cryptocurrencies, which have increased their prevalence with the climb of Bitcoin in the beginning of 2021, have been included in the ‘normal’ of a large part of the world’s population. However, currencies in this category can be easily affected by the slightest movements, let alone the words of world-famous people. A statement that could have the same effect came recently from Apple’s CEO.
Tim Cook, who has been the CEO of Apple since 2011, recently revealed his views on cryptocurrencies and his personal actions in the field. Expressing that some of his investments consist of cryptocurrencies, Cook said that it makes sense to use these coins together with different options for investment purposes.
“I think it makes sense”
Tim Cook, who recently participated in the New York Times’ DealBook, received a question from the host of the program about whether he owns cryptocurrencies. On top of that, Cook said that he owns cryptocurrencies and that it is a small part of his many investments. The full statement was as follows: “Yes, I have cryptocurrency. I think it makes perfect sense to have cryptocurrencies included in a diversified portfolio. Also, this is not investment advice. ”
However, these statements do not mean that Apple will start receiving cryptocurrencies or accept these currencies as payment. “I don’t think people buy Apple shares for cryptocurrencies,” Cook said in his statements on this subject in the program. But we don’t know what will happen in the future.
