Google’s new smartphone Pixel 6 was introduced last October. The first review reports after the introduction, on the one hand, and the first comments from users who bought the phone, pointed out that the fingerprint sensor was working slowly. The explanation from Google on the subject was not delayed.

According to Google’s statement, the reason for the slow operation of the sensor on the Pixel 6 is the use of advanced security algorithms in the sensor. In a statement on Twitter, Google said, “We’re sorry for the difficulty. The Pixel 6 fingerprint sensor uses advanced security algorithms. In some cases, verification may take longer due to these additional protections or direct contact to the sensor may be required,” while not providing a more detailed explanation.

We’re sorry for the hassle. The Pixel 6 fingerprint sensor utilizes enhanced security algorithms. In some instances, these added protections can take longer to verify or require more direct contact with the sensor. Try troubleshooting steps: https://t. co/uTbifE5Uyo. Thanks. ^Levi

The fingerprint sensor used in Pixel 6 is based on the optical sensor. However, according to the comments of users on Reddit, OnePlus 9 also has an optical sensor, and on the other hand, they argue that the sensor in OnePlus 9 works faster. While it seems that Google could fix this with a software update, it’s clear that it’s more defensive for now.
