Elon Musk, owner of the world’s most popular microblogging platform Twitter, made a statement a few months ago and said that end-to-end encryption will come to the direct message system on Twitter. The latest news reveals that these works have now been completed.

The statement made from both Elon Musk(1) and Twitter’s official support page(2) reveals that the platform’s direct message feature has been updated with much more. So what are these innovations?

Now you can reply to any message you want the way you want!

Twitter’s direct message feature hasn’t been that advanced until now. It was not possible to reply to an incoming message on the platform by quoting it as in WhatsApp. You only saw the “reply” option when you tapped on the last message. You could also react to messages with just a few emojis. Those are all history. According to Twitter’s statement, users will now be able to reply to any message just like on WhatsApp. Also, from now on, the reaction will be with any desired emoji, not just a few emojis.

And of course; Twitter’s direct message feature now also includes end-to-end encryption. Elon Musk used the following statements on this subject: “Even if a gun is put to my head, I will not be able to see your messages.”

Voice and video calls are also coming to Twitter!

Elon Musk’s statements on Twitter revealed that new direct message features for the platform are also on the way. According to Elon Musk, Twitter will enable voice and video calls in the near future. In other words, just like in WhatsApp, you will be able to make voice or video calls on Twitter.
