A major Apple supplier that produces parts for the solid-state buttons of the iPhone 15, which is starting to return to the snake story, said that the touch-sensitive volume and mute buttons will not be on the new iPhones.

Industry reports confirm that the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max will likely not have touch-sensitive “taptic” buttons, suggesting that Apple is going back to its roots in how users turn their phones on or change their volume. In other words, users will continue to encounter normal keys on new iPhones. At least that’s what Texas-based Apple supplier Cirrus Logic says.

The expected “solid state” buttons were expected to be more functional than regular buttons. It was thought that users would be able to control their phones like a mini trackpad by swiping their fingers on these surfaces, but Apple’s plan seems to be until another spring.
