Many iPhone drop tests have been conducted since the first iPhone was released. But these tests are usually done up to a height of 6 meters and in most cases we have seen phones damaged.

But this time, a paratrooper performed the drop test from a height of 4.27 kilometers, albeit by accident. As the paratrooper jumped from this height, he was unaware that his iPhone was about to fall out of his pocket.

The paratrooper named Hatton Smith shared this unusual experience on TikTok with the following words: “What happens if you keep your iPhone in your pocket when you go skydiving?”

The video begins with Smith jumping out of the plane and the iPhone slipping out of his pocket. Then it shows Smith and his friends finding the smartphone on the ground. One of his friends says it looks like Excalibur as the phone is half stuck in the muddy ground. When he picks up the iPhone from the ground, we see that everything seems to be working fine.

It’s unclear exactly which iPhone Smith owns. But it can be guessed that there is a model between the iPhone X and iPhone 12. The phone also appears to have a case.

The first guess as to how the iPhone survived such a fall has to do with the muddy ground. Surely things would have been different had he fallen on concrete or a hard floor.
