Google Chrome version 113 released
The most important improvement in Chrome 113 is WebGPU support. For those who don’t know, this feature allows web pages to display more advanced 3D content over the GPU and speed up machine learning algorithms on the device. The new update is available on Linux, macOS and Windows platforms, including 15 additional security fixes. Here are all the innovations offered with the new update:
- Faster AV1 Video Encoding
- Chrome 113 offers integrated version 3.6 of libaom, which significantly speeds up CPU-based AV1 video encoding. It will benefit all WebRTC applications with faster and more efficient video conference calls.
- CSS Media Properties
- What’s new in CSS overflow-inline, overflow-block and CSS
- Linear Motion Acceleration Function
- Chrome 113 now offers a linear() facilitation function that allows linear interpolation between multiple points.
- CSS image-set() support
- The browser now supports CSS image-set() as a type to specify various image options.
- WebGPU Enabled By Default
- WebGPU, which replaces WebGL, is enabled by default in Chrome 113. This provides enhanced performance for high-quality 3D graphics on the web, an exciting development for gamers and other users.
In light of this information, we can say that Chrome 113 focuses on faster and more efficient video conferencing for users, better support for CSS media features, and improved 3D graphics performance with WebGPU.
