WhatsApp is a product of Meta that is constantly updating and adding useful features. When we look back, there is no trace of WhatsApp, which we used until the mid-2010s, which can only be messaged. The application, which has changed quite a lot when it comes to business accounts, stickers, voice and video calls, seems to be facing another big development.

Earlier, there were claims that a feature called Communities would come. This feature, which XDA developers first noticed, was used to create communities where groups became channels. Similar findings have now been reached by WABetaInfo.

Large scale of groups Communities

WABetaInfo has found findings on the feature that WhatsApp will probably call Communities in Turkish. These findings, which support the claims made in October, will simply create much larger chat groups and bring Discord to the platform.

Even if you don’t use Discord, you’ve seen and heard it; When you join a group, you will see channels with different titles belonging to the group. The same is true in Slack, which is used for business. There may be separate channels and more general, common channels for different departments or different tasks. It looks like WhatsApp will gain exactly this feature as well. With the arrival of the Communities feature, the administrators’ powers will increase, while the channels in a community will be like the current groups.

We do not know exactly how communities differ from groups in appearance. All we know is that community photos will be square, unlike group photos that are round. Information about the in-chat view will be revealed with future leaks or directly with the launch of the feature. There is not the slightest information about the date when the Communities feature will be available.
