Toyota is going through a very important process of change. Koji Sato was appointed as the new CEO of the brand, after Akio Toyoda, who was the grandson of Kiichiro Toyoda, the founder of the company, and assumed the CEO position of Toyota. With Koji Sato, the Japanese manufacturer’s transition to electric cars has also begun. However, in a statement he made, Sato stated that they did not forget the sports car lovers.
The number of Toyotas with the Gazoo Racing logo will increase
With the arrival of Koji Sato, Toyota is accelerating the transition to electric cars. The company, which is preparing to introduce 10 new electric cars from the middle of the 2020s, will thus better adapt to the changing market. Accelerating its transition to electric cars, the company does not shelve its performance vehicles.
As it is known, Toyota made a strong entry into the hot hatch market with the GR Yaris and GR Corolla. The new CEO of the company, which attracted all the attention especially with the Yaris GR, announced that they will continue their Gazoo Racing versions.
It is very difficult to comment on the GR product range to be expanded already. However, Toyota currently has the GR Yaris, GR Corolla, GR86 and GR Supra models. In the coming period, Toyota is expected to release Gazoo Racing versions for other segments as well. One of these models may be a pick-up with the GR logo.
Another possibility is the iconic MR2 model of the Japanese manufacturer. The return of the MR2, a complete rear-engined pleasure machine, will make many car enthusiasts happy. Unfortunately, there is no official statement about this yet.
An SUV model with the Gazoo Racing logo sounds like the closest option. Considering the popularity of SUV models in the current market conditions, a performance SUV model can contribute to Toyota’s sales. It is also possible to see an electric motor GR model from Toyota, which has embraced electric cars with the new CEO.
We don’t know yet about Toyota’s new Gazoo Racing versions. However, even thinking about the performance of the current models is enough to get us excited. So what do you think about Gazoo Racing versions of Toyota models? You can share your views with us in the comments section.
