Samsung is preparing to revive Exynos: New details came from Exynos 2500

South Korean technology giant Samsung, which has had serious problems with the Exynos chipsets used in flagship devices in the past years, used Snapdragon processors in all versions of the Galaxy S23 series. Although this decision of the company pleases the users, Samsung has not given up on the Exynos brand.

Exynos 2500 will have 4 Cortex-X5 cores

Exynos 2500, called the Dream Team chipset; A Cortex-X5 running at 3.3GHz will have 3 Cortex-X5 running at 2.5GHz, and an unspecified number of Cortex-A730 and Cortex-A520 cores. Since the Cortex-A730 and Cortex-A520 are an unannounced ARM design, it’s hard to comment on the performance of the efficiency cores.

On the graphics side, it is stated that this chip will have a custom-made Samsung GPU licensed from AMD. The Exynos 2500, which will bring Samsung back to the flagship mobile chip market, will likely be introduced alongside the Galaxy S25 series. The Qualcomm processor that Samsung will face in this process will be Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. The Exynos 2500 is expected to offer similar performance, as it is stated that 8 Gen 4 will offer Apple M2-level performance.
