Musk may sell Twitter to someone who is ‘in pursuit of the truth’
Musk made some statements in an interview with the BBC on Twitter Spaces last night. He was asked if he would sell Twitter if offered $44 billion, the initial amount he paid the company for the social media platform. Musk initially said he would decline the offer, but then kept the door open to the idea, saying how it would go: “I think if I was sure they were going to vigorously pursue the truth, then I guess I’d be happy to hand it over to someone else. I don’t really care about the money, but I want to have an accurate source that I can trust. “
In other words, Musk wants to stick to the policies Twitter has put in place since he took over. These policies include prioritizing freedom of expression over content control, and reinstating users who were previously banned from the service, such as former US President Donald Trump.
Musk will resign by the end of the year
During the interview, Musk said that Twitter once had 7,800 employees, with that number down 80 percent to around 1,500. Musk said that this would not be considered a celebration, stating that the situation was stressful. Stating that Twitter’s revenues and expenses are barely breaking through, Musk also promised to resign as Twitter CEO, possibly by the end of the year.
