After a long hiatus of three years, Netflix has announced that the final season of Black Mirror will air in June. Series creator Charlie Brooker claimed in an interview on the Tudum blog that the final episodes of Black Mirror will surprise fans.
“I started the blog partly as a challenge and partly to keep things fresh for both me and the audience, deliberately subverting some of my own basic assumptions about what to expect this season,” Brooker added, adding that the new season will tackle metaphors.
Season six will feature Black Mirror’s largest cast to date. We can list some of the names in the roster as follows: Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad), Annie Murphy (Schitt’s Creek), Ben Barnes (Shadow and Bone), Himesh Patel (Station Eleven), Josh Hartnett (Black Hawk Down), Kate Mara (House of Cards) ), Rory Culkin (Columbus), and Salma Hayek Pinault (Frida).

News that Netflix is working on a new season of Black Mirror first surfaced about a year ago. At the time, the anthology’s newest episodes were said to be more cinematic in scope, and the teaser trailer above confirms that.
The past two seasons have come under criticism from critics and fans alike that the anthology has lost much of its sharp edge. That’s why Black Mirror has a lot to prove with its sixth and final season.
