Popular instant messaging app WhatsApp adds a lot of new features to improve user experience. The latest news shows that you will soon be able to add a description to transmitted files on Android smartphones. Thanks to this feature, the need to repeatedly explain with different messages with the explanation you can add to the file will be eliminated.
Thanks to the added annotation, the recipient can read the header and understand the purpose of the transmitted file. According to WABetaInfo, the ability to add custom annotations to transmitted files and media will be available with WhatsApp beta v2.23.8.22.
When this feature is introduced, users will be able to get rid of WhatsApp’s auto-generated file description and add their own text as descriptions for transmitted files. Although this custom description option of WhatsApp works similarly to file captions, the new description will be sent as a separate message with its own description to the recipient who will receive documents, pictures, videos or other file types.
Allowing annotations to be added to the forwarded message will help to better understand the sent file. Reportedly, the feature will be enabled by default after installing the latest WhatsApp beta.
