There is still no solution to the scattered structure of the Android operating system, which has been the main problem from the very beginning. Even Android versions from 2013 are still in use because it is a large ecosystem. This creates problems on the update and application side.

Android 13 goes mainstream

According to the latest figures released by Google, the Android 13 usage rate increased from 5 percent in January to 12 percent. Minor decreases in other versions are reflected in this side as an increase.

The highest usage rate in the ecosystem is in Android 11 version with 23.5 percent. The Android 10 version follows it with 18.5 percent, while the Android 12 version is at 16.5 percent. In other words, 2019 and later versions are at 60 percent.

However, there is a 26 percent usage rate from the KitKat version released in 2013 to the Android 10 version. Especially applications that are not compatible with Android 9 or Android 10 put this segment in trouble. Moreover, this segment is not updated, except for extraordinary situations.
