The iPhone 15 series, which is planned to be presented to users towards the end of this year, is the most anticipated smartphone of 2023. Many details about the models have emerged so far, so there is no question in the minds of users about how they will perform. It was stated that Apple would start using a new button technology in the Pro models of the series recently, but according to the latest information, the company gave up this plan for various reasons.
Physical button will be used on iPhone 15 Pro models
The common point of the leaks that have emerged to date is that the iPhone 15 Pros will not have physical volume and power buttons, and will instead come up with a new button technology with haptic feedback. The new technology, which is claimed to work with the Taptic Engine and can even be customized at the same time, has been shelved for now according to the latest information.
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that Apple’s plan for solid-state buttons with haptic feedback for use on the iPhone 15 Pros has been derailed. At this point, the company shelved the project in question due to technical problems that could not be resolved before mass production. In other words, if there are no last-minute changes, the Pro models of the iPhone 15 series, which will be introduced in September, will have physical buttons like the previous ones.
Of course, the shelving of this project does not mean that it has been completely cancelled. Because Apple will officially switch to this technology in the iPhone 16 family, which will come in 2024, even if it is not on the iPhone 15 Pro models.
