There are many applications on smartphones that we rarely use. Sometimes we have to delete these applications, which take up a significant amount of space on our phone, due to storage problems. However, we need to restore these applications when we need them. Google, on the other hand, has brought a new solution for those who have such storage problems on Android phones.
Automatic archiving feature saves up to 60 percent
Google has introduced automatic archiving for Android devices, which can provide extra storage without completely removing apps from devices. Google states that the auto-archiving feature can reduce the storage space of applications by approximately 60 percent without completely removing the application and the user’s data from their device.
Archived apps can be identified by a cloud icon placed above the app icon. These apps can be re-downloaded and restored if desired, provided they are still available on Google Play. This new feature can be very useful for Android devices that do not initially offer expandable storage, and for users who do not want to completely delete apps to free up space on their phones.
The new feature of Android will appear in front of users when trying to install a new application on a device that has run out of storage space. When the feature is enabled, all unused applications are archived to free up space on the device. It is also possible to set which application will be archived or not.
