Showing up with its new generation processors, Intel presented its 13th generation Raptor Lake processors last October. The company, which managed to receive positive reviews from users, now seems to respond to its competitors before the 14th generation. According to reports emerging today, Intel will update its desktop processors with the Core Raptor Lake Refresh series.
Intel will retain its 13th generation processor brand
As it is known, Intel is working on Raptor Lake Refresh for desktop computers. With the resulting report, some situations become clear. According to the report, Intel’s upcoming 14th generation Core processor family has been named “MTL/Meteor Lake”. This shows that 14th generation processors will be based on Meteor Lake hardware support.
However, the information shared a few days ago gave us details about Raptor Lakes-S Refresh. Thus, the processor family, which will be released before the 14th generation Raptor Lake support, will have similar names with the mobile series. All this information shows that we may encounter Core i9-13950K or similar names.
In the light of the information revealed, the existing 700 series will also take place as it is. This shows that Intel will have a refresh for the LGA1700 platform. While Intel Raptor Lake Refresh is planned to be introduced in the second quarter of 2023, it is stated that Meteor Lake processors will appear later.
Apart from these, it is said that there is a high probability of increasing the clock speed across the card. However, there is no information about what constitutes this renewal. There is a possibility that Intel will innovate in power improvements such as die grouping, die thinning and higher clock speeds.
