Reportedly, Intel’s upcoming 14th Gen Core processor family has been listed as “MTL/Meteor Lake” in a new report on OpenVPL (Video Processing Library) hardware support. As it is known, Intel is working on Raptor Lake Refresh for desktop computers. We can say that the new table confirms that the 14th Generation processors will be based on the Meteor Lake architecture.
Also, a recently shared roadmap has revealed the details of Raptor Lake-S Refresh. However, the processor family, which will be released just before the 14th generation Raptor Lake architecture, will likely adopt product names similar to the mobile series. Therefore, we may encounter Core i9-13950K or similar names as part of Raptor Lake Refresh.More importantly, the current 700 series platform will remain as it is, meaning Intel will now have two generations and a refresh for the current LGA1700 platform. Considering the roadmap, Intel Raptor Lake Refresh is expected to be introduced in the third quarter of this year. Meteor Lake processors will appear in the next stage.
