After Apple released the iOS 16.4 update at the end of last month, yesterday it released an interim bug update, iOS 16.4.1. Editing the error that occurred in Siri with iOS 16.4.1, Apple brought a color option for an emoji. Apple has removed the old version with the new update.
iOS 16.3.1 will no longer be available
Following the release of iOS 16.4.1, Apple has stopped signing iOS 16.3.1, preventing iPhone users from downgrading to this software version. For iPhone users, iOS 16.4, iOS 16.4.1 and iOS 16.5 beta options are now available.
With this new decision, those who want to stay on iOS 16.3 have been prevented. Apple routinely stops signing older iOS versions over time to prevent users from downgrading to an older software version.
iOS 16.3.1 was an update released on February 13 that included bug fixes, security improvements, and additional Crash Detection optimizations for iPhone 14 models. iOS 16.4 will likely suffer the same fate as iOS 16.5, which will likely be available later this month.
The innovations presented in the iOS 16.4 update presented by Apple about two weeks ago are as follows:
- 21 new emojis including animals, gestures and objects are now available in the emoji keyboard
- Notification for web apps added to home screen
- Voice Isolation for cellular calls
- Duplicate album in Photos, new arrangement for duplicate photos and videos in iCloud Shared Photo Library
- VoiceOver support for maps in the Weather app
- Accessibility setting to automatically mute video when flash effects are detected
- Fixed an issue where “Ask to Buy” requests from children were not appearing on the parent’s device
- Crash Detection optimizations were made on iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models
