It has been revealed that the story of The Pirate Bay, which was founded in 2003 and is well known to everyone who is involved with the internet, will be brought to the screens as a television series.

According to Variety, production company Dynamic Television has acquired the worldwide rights to The Pirate Bay to shoot a series. It was reported that the shooting of the series, which is not yet known when it will be released, will begin this fall.

The 6-episode series will tell the founders of The Pirate Bay

The “The Pirate Bay” series, which will have the same name as the site, will last 6 episodes. The production, which is stated to be character-oriented, will focus on founders Peter Sunde, Fredrik Neij and Gottfrid Swartholm and will focus on the establishment of the famous Bittorent site.

Sweden-based The Pirate Bay was created by the trio in 2003 as a response to large companies’ attempts to control file sharing on the Internet. Established to ensure the free flow of information, its site later became a place where music, movies, books, games and software are illegally distributed. All three founders were eventually caught and sentenced.

The series will be produced by B-Reel Films, which is behind movies like Stockholm and Midsommar. Jens Sjörgen, the director of I am Zlatan, will sit in the director’s chair, while Piotr Marciniak and Patrick Gyllström will take part in the script. In a statement about the series, Marcimiak, one of the writers of the series, said, “A classic story of rise and fall. “It’s a tragedy about flying too close to the sun, but it’s also a timeless story of generational conflict.”

On the other hand, Dynamic Television’s Annika Schmidt described the site’s story as “an incredible story of three geniuses who opened Pandora’s box”, adding that while the trio put themselves at risk, they sparked a global digital and political revolution whose impact is still felt today.
