OpenAI’s popular chatbot ChatGPT came up with a new scenario this time. In a video that went viral on Thai social media, a tech enthusiast named Patthawikorn Boonrin claims to have won the lottery with the help of artificial intelligence.Boonrin, who lives in Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand, asked ChatGPT to predict the winning lottery numbers for him by performing a series of calculations. For this, he says, he asks the chatbot a few hypothetical questions and enters historical statistics of the last decade’s winning numbers.
After the mutual dialogues, ChatGPT returned with the numbers 57, 27, 29 and 99. Although the numbers provided by the chatbot made Boonrin money, it wasn’t a huge amount. The Thai user earned 2,000 Thai baht ($59) thanks to the prediction of the artificial intelligence.
“Go out and exercise”
Although the money won from the lottery is not an astronomical amount, the interesting experience was enough to surprise users on social media. One user commented on the viral video, “Here we go, hope has arrived”. The Thai user will continue to exhibit his experiments with his TikTok account.
He also shared that when Boonrin turned to the chatbot in hopes of making quick money, ChatGPT told him that winning the lottery was all about luck, then reminded him not to be too “obsessed” and go out and do something like exercise.
