US-based technology giant Microsoft has made a very important move regarding the Chromium-based internet browser Edge. The company, which added a new feature to the application in the preview version, allowed users to share their Edge pages with other users with this feature. Let’s take a closer look at the details of this feature that makes life easier.

The new feature, which Microsoft calls Workspaces, allows one or a group of tabs to be compiled and then shared with another user. If users share a link that Edge will provide with another user, that user will be able to view and perform actions on the same tabs. All of this will be in real time.

It will be easy to use

In the screenshot above, you see the new feature of Edge. A new button to be added to the top left of the screen will enable this feature to work. Clicking on the “Create new” option, the user will then assign a title and color to this option. This will create the workspace.

In the next stage, the user will determine which connection or connections he will use jointly. After this process is completed, the user, who clicks on the “Invite” option at the top right of the screen, will share the link provided by Edge with his friends. When this process is complete, the co-working space will be open to all users.

According to Microsoft’s statements, this feature continues to protect user privacy. In this context; sensitive content such as passwords and downloads, collections and cookies will not fall into the hands of other users. In addition, websites that host sensitive content such as e-mail will not be shared within the scope of this feature.

So what will this feature do?

Let’s say you are working on a joint project with your coworkers or schoolmates. This feature will make it possible for all teammates to work simultaneously on the same web page. The biggest feature that distinguishes it from the screen sharing feature of Teams or Zoom is that users who view the browser can also perform actions on it.
