In many countries, strict measures regarding the use of personal data force application developers to produce new policies. Following Apple, Google is also making a major policy change in Android apps.

More control in Android apps

According to the statement made by Google, Android applications will allow the user to delete their account and all their data if they wish. This will apply to both the app and the web platform. In addition, if the user requests, his account will be closed completely and all related data will be formatted. So once a user deletes their account, nothing will be left.

With this move, Google aims to give users more control and to make Android apps and naturally the Google Play store more reliable in terms of the use of personal data. The new policy will be implemented gradually.

Developers must respond to user data deletion requests by December 7th. Until the first months of next year, these changes will take place on the store pages of the applications. Developers are also entitled to request an extension until May 31.
