Different screen experience in the vehicle
A new 21-page patent prepared by Apple points to a different experience in the in-car information display. As we will remember from Range Rover models, the information display will look different to the driver and different to the passenger.
Apple uses a different technology here. The company had previously developed a screen that presented different images than normal when viewed with virtual reality glasses. Prismatic lenses on this screen are supported by eye tracking software. The algorithm that controls the backlighting can produce two different images at the same time.
Apple can use it for user privacy or for apps that focus on driver navigation while the passenger is looking at the music screen. Thus, the driver’s attention is not distracted. Since there is no information about Apple Car yet, it is unclear whether this screen technology will come to life.
