The UN official, who said the other day that 2% of Elon Musk's wealth could play a role in ending hunger in the world, this time offered to speak to Musk. Musk has not yet responded to this offer. On the other hand, the UN official did not respond to Musk's request to "make all accounts public".

There was a heated discussion between Elon Musk and United Nations World Food Program Director David Beasley the other day. David Beasley said that with just 2% of Elon Musk’s wealth (about $6 billion), world hunger could end. Seeing this, Elon Musk was also harsh on Beasley under a post that showed that the United Nations had collected $ 8.4 billion in 2020.

In these posts, Musk briefly said, “Show us how $ 6 billion will end hunger with a public account, let’s sell Tesla shares and end it immediately. ” he said. When this statement of Musk came together with the fact that the UN had collected $ 8.4 billion and could not end hunger with it, the reactions to David Beasley grew naturally. Beasley also corrected CNN’s news with his latest statement, but turned down an important request from Elon Musk.

The event was misrepresented:

Responding to Elon Musk’s answer, Beasley began his speech by criticizing the CNN headline about Musk’s statement that 2% of his wealth could end world hunger. CNN’s headline “UN World Food Program Director Says 2% of Elon Musk’s Wealth Can Solve World Hunger” is not true. CNN edited its news and corrected the error. Beasley was saying that $6 billion could help solve hunger, not just solve it.

Beasley continued:

“$6 billion will not end world hunger, but it will prevent geopolitical instability, mass migration and save 42 million people from the brink of hunger. An unprecedented crisis due to COVID/conflict/climate crises. ”

“With your help, we can bring hope, stability and change the future. Let’s talk: It’s not as complicated as Falcon Heavy, but at least it’s too dangerous not to have a conversation. I might be on the next plane to come to you. If you don’t like what you hear, throw me out!”

After these statements, Musk made another statement supporting that the calculations should be public:

“Please post your current and proposed spending in detail so people can see exactly where the money is going. Sunlight is a wonderful thing. ”

In another tweet, Musk shared a news that would embarrass the UN:

Moments after his tweet above, Musk added a link to a news story about the UN scandal in 2015: “What happened here?” asked the question. The headline was “Children as young as 9 years old forced into sexual exploitation with UN officials to get food”.

The last institution we encountered with such a disgusting scandal was the World Health Organization:

However, the Director flatly denied Musk’s and people’s request for a “public account”, giving no response to the news:

“Instead of tweets, let me show you. We can meet anywhere, whether on Earth or space, but I recommend a place where you can see the processes and yes, the technologies of the World Food Program staff. I’ll bring the plan and open the books. ”

The conversation between Musk and Beasley ended here. While defending Elon Musk, many also questioned why such an offer to end hunger was made in Twitter responses.
