Samsung’s foldable lineup will only get bigger this year with the addition of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5. Both models will undoubtedly bring some major upgrades, such as the waterdrop hinge, which will allow Samsung’s foldable phones to fold down without leaving a gap between the 2 sides.
Rumors for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 also suggest that the cover screen will be greatly enlarged. The first Z Flip model had a small 1.1-inch cover screen, while the next 2 models (Z Flip 3 and Z Flip 4) increased the cover screen size to 1.9 inches. It wasn’t a major upgrade, but it did help that the cover screen was somewhat usable, which wasn’t the case with the first Galaxy Z Flip.
Galaxy Z Flip 5 cover screen will be huge compared to Z Flip 4
The latest rumor about the outer screen of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 has emerged with some concept images and videos showing the Z Flip 5 design. This new concept shows off the larger, oddly shaped outer screen.
It looks like the screen area on the outside of the Z Flip 5 will take up as much space as possible, allowing us to do much more without having to open the phone. Yes, the best use of the larger outer screen would undoubtedly be to take high-quality selfies using the rear cameras. However, tasks such as checking notifications and replying to messages will also be more comfortable.
We’ll have to wait and see if Samsung will go so far as to allow users to use all the apps on the cover screen, as you can with the Motorola RAZR. We’re also not sure about the exact size of the cover screen yet. Details will become clear as the launch date of the phone approaches.
