Although the desktop Intel Arc graphics card series, which was released last year, had a tough start in general, Intel was able to strengthen its products with the software updates made afterwards. Participating in the Nvidia and AMD competition as a third manufacturer, Intel’s future plans will apparently be shaped by TSMC’s bands.

Intel’s next generation Arc cards are entrusted to TSMC

According to a special report published by Commercial Times, Intel will supply the GPUs to be used in the next generation Art graphics cards from TSMC’s tapes. Battlemage GPUs, called the continuation of the current Alchemist series, are expected to arrive in the second half of 2024. This new generation is planned to be produced on the TSMC 4nm process. Similarly, it is claimed that the next Celestial architecture Arc GPUs will use TSMC’s 3nm process. Currently, TSMC is the manufacturer with the highest efficiency in both production technologies.

Celestial cards, which will come after Intel Arc Battlemage graphics cards, are expected to be released in the second half of 2026. However, there is a longer time until then, and these plans are subject to change. Intel will change its architecture in both generations. The Xe2 architecture will be used in the Battlemage series, and the Xe3 architecture will be used in the Celestial. Meanwhile, Intel Arc Chief Architect Raja Koduri had recently left his seat and there were questions about the future of the Intel Arc series. This new report shows that Intel has not strayed from its goals.
