Following brands such as Valce, Ayaneo and Logitech, Asus entered the portable game console market with the ROG Ally. Moreover, this device, which uses the world’s fastest APU, offers innovations such as 120 Hz refresh rate that are not even in the Steam Deck. Here are the Asus ROG Ally features…
Asus ROG Ally features
Asus ROG Ally takes the stage with the claim of being the most powerful portable game console in the market in terms of its features. Unlike the 1280×800 (HD+) and 60 Hz refresh rate display on the Steam Deck, ROG Ally offers a 1920×1080 (FHD) and 120 Hz refresh rate display.
In addition, Asus says it uses the world’s most powerful APU in this device, thanks to its collaboration with AMD. This indicates that it probably includes 7th generation Ryzen chips. But the details of the chip are not yet clear. Again, we know that it will offer much better performance than Steam Deck.
Of course, there are some improvements on the design side as well. First of all, the ROG Ally is much smaller than the Deck, despite having the same 7-inch screen size. It’s also thinner. Moreover, it has an advanced dual-fan cooling system. However, if the device is not under heavy workload, as in video cards, these fans either work very quietly or do not work at all.
Finally, there is one more unknown but important detail. Asus has introduced external graphics cards that can work with laptops in recent years. By connecting the new portable game console to these devices, you can use the performance to play AAA quality games in high resolution, to mirror the TV and to charge the device.
