Computer drive manufacturer and data storage services provider Western Digital (WD) said in a press release that the network security incident was detected on Sunday, March 26. Western Digital said in a statement that there was a rapid response and the investigation was started immediately with the help of leading external security and forensic experts. The intruder is believed to have accessed some of the company’s data. Studies are ongoing to understand the nature and scope of this data.
My Cloud is out of service
WD took additional security measures to protect its systems and operations after the attack. In this context, some Western Digital services have been offline indefinitely. For example; A large number of users who have been using My Cloud since the day of the incident report that they cannot access their media in the cloud.
