Launched in 2012, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, or CS: GO for short, is still popular today. The game, which was announced for the second time recently, broke a record in case openings in March.
Another new record from CS:GO: 39.5 million cases opened!
Recently, Valve officially announced Counter-Strike 2, which will be the sequel to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. This news resonated in the gaming world. So much so that after the announcement, CS: GO showed serious increases in the number of players and even renewed its own record.
With the report published today, it was seen that CS: GO broke a new record. According to the data shared by the “CS:GO Case Tracker” platform, a total of 39.5 million cases were opened by players in March. This record came after the announcement of Counter-Strike 2.
CS:GO players can win a random item by opening a safe in the game. This item is usually customizable items such as a weapon pattern or graffiti. Players can then sell the items they drop from the safe on the Steam market. They can still earn from it.
It is not known why players opened more crates in March. Valve’s announcement that CS:GO players can move their inventory to the new game may be the reason for the increase in case openings. On the other hand, a claim made is that the probability of dropping valuable items in Counter-Strike 2 is low. Considering this claim, we can say that players are trying to drop valuable items before Counter-Strike 2 comes out.
The case opening data published by CS:GO Case Tracker is as follows;
