Recently, there has been a remarkable development regarding e-scooters, which have spread almost all over the world. Paris, the capital of France, has banned e-scooters. The biggest reason for the decision, which was recorded as a first in the world, was the accidents and the discomfort of the local people with e-scooters.

The Municipality of Paris held a referendum to clarify the issue. As a result of the referendum, in which 8 percent of the voters participated, it was decided to ban e-scooters. Because, according to the results of the referendum, the rate of those who did not want e-scooters was 90 percent.

The parties defended opposing views.

The Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, made some statements on the subject while she was going to vote. Saying that the service is very expensive, Hidalgo stated that paying five euros for 10 minutes is not sustainable. Also mentioning that e-scooters have become one of the important causes of accidents, the President became the winner as a result of the referendum.

According to e-scooter users, the situation is not quite as described. According to them, traffic accidents occur every hour of every day in Paris, and e-scooter-related accidents make up a small part of them. However, this view was not accepted in the referendum. Parisians, who are both disturbed by traffic accidents and do not like e-scooters left all over the city, have ensured that these new generation transportation vehicles are banned throughout the city.
