In recent months, we have seen artificial intelligence tools such as ChatGPT being used for many different purposes. These chatbots have now come to the aid of a student. This 22-year-old person from the UK named Millie Houlton was able to cancel a parking ticket she received with the help of ChatGPT.
According to the BBC’s report, Houlton, who lives in the city of York, parked his car on his own street. However, despite having a permit, he received a £60 faulty parking ticket. The 22-year-old student then turned to the popular chatbot to appeal the sentence.
According to Houltan, ChatGPT had an excellent response to the withdrawal of the sentence.
Saying that he did not have time to respond to the fine, Houlton asked ChatGPT for help with the words “Please help me write a letter to the city council, they gave me a parking ticket” and the details of the incident. The chatbot also gave a response explaining why the penalty was not correct. After that, the authorities withdrew the fine.
It can be seen that ChatGPT’s reply, written by Houltan, touched on many important points in detail, such as that he is allowed to park behind his house and that the yellow line that is forbidden to cross is not visible.
Houlton said that ChatGPT’s response was great, explaining the situation perfectly: “I’ve included all the details about the punishment, such as where, when and why it was wrong. And within minutes, I had this perfectly formed and personalized response.”
Artificial intelligence-supported chatbots such as ChatGPT, which have reached millions of users, are known for giving realistic answers. They have many outstanding talents such as writing poetry, writing articles, and even succeeding in exams. Of course, it should be added that these tools can sometimes give wrong and meaningless answers that seem plausible.
