MoonPay Interprets Layoffs as Scaling Team Intelligently

Despite dozens of breakouts at all levels of the company, successful in crypto payments, MoonPay insists it’s not laying people off.

According to several people familiar with the matter and his analysis of LinkedIn records, at least 40 employees have left or laid off the startup in the past six months. Even more striking, according to the calculation, the average working time of more than 50 people who left MoonPay since the beginning of last year does not exceed 10 months.

Despite the confusion, however, MoonPay says the number of employees has increased from 190 to 279 since March last year. And the company continues to recruit. This means that there will be no reduction in staff numbers due to the recent cuts.

A spokesperson said in a statement:

“The MoonPay team has scaled intelligently and continues to scale.”
