With the Apple Music Classical app and an Apple Pay Later payment system, iOS devices continue to add to their features. Apple is preparing to introduce three new services to iPhone models in the near future.
Apple will launch 3 new apps in 2023
Apple aims to release applications that it has announced but not yet made available later in the year. We briefly explained the new iOS features that the company plans to offer in 2023. Here are those features:
iMessage Contact Key Verification
With the iMessage Contact Key Verification feature, which Apple announced in 2022, users who face unusual digital threats such as journalists, human rights activists and government officials will be able to choose to more reliably verify that they are messaging only with the person they intended.
In conversations between users who have enabled iMessage Contact Key Authentication, users are warned if malicious individuals managed to bypass their cloud servers and insert their own devices to listen in on the conversation.
As an added layer of security, iMessage Contact Key Verification users will be able to compare a Contact Verification Code in person, on FaceTime, or via another secure call to ensure they’re only communicating with the people they intended.
Apple Card Savings Account
Apple announced in October 2022 that Apple Card users will soon be able to open a new high yield savings account from Goldman Sachs and automatically deposit Daily Cash amounts into this account with no fees, no minimum deposits and no minimum balance.
After the account is created, the amount of Daily Cash in the account will be automatically deposited into the Apple Card Savings Account and will start earning interest, unless the user requests otherwise. Apple Card offers 2-3% Daily Cash for purchases made with Apple Pay and 1% for purchases made with a physical card.
Apple’s new savings account was listed in the iOS 16.1 pre-release notes in October, and Goldman Sachs updated the Apple Card customer agreement for the feature in December. However, this feature is not yet available.
Next generation CarPlay
At WWDC 2022, Apple introduced the next-generation application that will support the iPhone-based software platform CarPlay’s integration with vehicle functions such as multiple displays, instrument cluster, climate controls and FM radio.
While Apple has even announced the first brands to support the new generation CarPlay experience, no clear steps have been taken in this regard yet. Acura, Audi, Ford, Honda, Infiniti, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lincoln, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Polestar, Porsche, Renault and Volvo will be the first brands to support next-generation CarPlay. The new system is expected to be available at the end of 2023.
